Some common orthodontic questions we get asked include:
How long will it take to straighten my teeth?
This depends on the severity of your bite and alignment problems. Minor issues can take as little as 6-9 months to address. In most cases it only takes 1-2 years to achieve straight teeth and a comfortable bite that you can enjoy for the rest of your life.
Does orthodontics hurt?
Some people may have heard bad stories about the pain caused by braces, but modern braces are designed to minimise pain. Any discomfort experienced can easily be controlled with oral pain relief such as panadol, just like a headache, and most patients don’t need any pain relief at all!
How much do braces cost?
The cost of braces depends on the treatment time required. Braces generally range from $6500–8500 and this can be paid off in monthly instalments over the period of treatment, which usually ranges from 12-24 months.
How much does Invisalign cost?
The cost of Invisalign treatment will be based on the amount of time required to achieve the desired alignment result. The average treatment time for Invisalign is between 12-24 months and fees typically range from $6,500 – $8,500. We are happy to offer a free orthodontic consultation to discuss your needs and provide a custom quote for care. At your request, we can perform a complimentary Invisalign consultation as part of your regular checkup.

Buck teeth
The appearance of having buck teeth is often due to the lower teeth being well behind the upper teeth. This can cause the lip to get caught between the upper and lower teeth, which may in turn cause the upper teeth to flare out even more. Children with buck teeth are at increased risk of damaging these teeth due to trauma. Buck teeth can be a genetically inherited trait and is usually a condition best treated early, while the child is still growing. Treatment for buck teeth may include plates and/or braces.
Crowded teeth
Small dental arches, large teeth and muscle functional issues can all cause crowding. Some people don’t like the appearance of crowded teeth and report that this makes it difficult to keep their teeth clean. In children, crowded teeth can sometimes be managed by creating more space in the mouth using plates and braces. Most adults prefer to address their crowding issues with a clear aligner system such as Invisalign. This allows the teeth to be straightened without the appearance of traditional braces.
Gappy Smile
Spaces between the teeth can be due to large dental arches, small teeth, or muscle dysfunction. We are able to address these issues through orthodontic and restoration approaches that close the spaces and improve the appearance of the teeth.
